We got a sandbox!!!! Giles came home one day with our car full of some free wood...literally covered about five feet up on the roof rack, in the trunk and in the back seat! And constructed a rectangular beauty. Yesterday we conned Cal Funk into helping us get a half yard of sand into the back of his truck and trailer and off we go! Let the games begin! Xander and Avery both LOVE it...therefore, I love it!
Xander quickly tested out the weight and flight patterns that sand would make when thrown in the air! (I bet nobody saw that coming)
I dumped a bunch of toys to be kept outside now, and Xander found some good parking spots for all of them! He does forget to organize some of the smaller things, but no matter where he's playing, the larger toys really need to have their place!
So far Avery has only got sand in her mouth by chewing on a sand covered toy...she was not impressed, so I'm thinking it won't be a long lesson to learn! She enjoys grabbing anything in Xander's hand when he happens to come a little too close! She's quick...you can see her eyeing that yellow sifter!

She's got a very long reach...somehow, despite a sizable stomach, she can pretty much lay her body flat between her legs...so this rake is well within her grasp!

So how many hours will you be spending out there? Avery looks a little mad in the one pic at that star fish thing. All in all very nice
I can see us spending a lot of time out there....if Xander just overhears the sandbox being mentioned he has to go out to it. Or a couple of times he went to the window upstairs so he could see that it was still there! Its love at first sight!
